Okay, that was a joke. No seriously, its a cry for divine intervention...
Anyways, I was actually enjoying myself by just kicking back and watching the drama unfold between our government and the opposition. It's really interesting to note how each one of them are carefully balancing their effort to deny any accusations and to spurt out propaganda and words to try and gain the support of the people. This unfortunately have caused the people to be more and more confuse.
I started off writing recap on the happenings to our country's politics, but then decided to delete what I've written cos' I'm not going to repeat it in my blog today. If you haven't been reading the papers or watching the news, then you're really an ignorant bastard! Pick up a paper today and read it! Know what is happening so when the time comes, you know which side you want to be!
Today's news on TheStar, Najib says that he is not weak or scared. That he has a good set of track records to prove it. Owh reeeaaallly? I bet a hudreds of other businessmen who have done business with the government that has you involved knows that to just make an appointment to see you means chipping out another few grand. Good track record? So far the good track record I see you are goo
d at is saying 'yes' to the PM all the time. It seems thats what you're very good at. He was saying how his overwhelming vote from the last election shows his integrity, well if you want to put it that way... lets see you try that again now... I bet your feet will feel so cold and your spine will be chilled.
Last night I was watching the debate between Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, the de facto deputy prime minister of Malaysia and YB Ahmad Shabery Cheek, the Information Minister for Malaysia. The topic was titled, 'Form the government today, reduce fuel prices tomorrow'. It was quite entertaining really to watch even though the whole debate was in Bahasa Melayu language. I did not watch this live as I did not have any television at home. I read about this debate yesterday in TheStar and thought it'll be something interesting to watch. Indeed it was.
In the debate, Anwar was pretty good. He was on track and kept to the topic and he handled the questions and attacks professionally with f
acts to support his views. This was no surprise about him who used to be a lecturer at Oxford and John Hopkin's College. As for Shabery, he was pretty much put to shame from my point of view. As an 'opposing' side to this debate, being that it was Anwar's challenge, Shabery has failed to defend much of the governments policy on the recent fuel hike. Not only that, it seems like he keeps deviating from the main topic and did not actually answer the questions that were asked to him by Anwar's panel or side was never even answered. Throughout the whole session he was twisting and turning words to return them back at Anwar. Even the person from Shabery's side who was supposed to ask the question was out of line. When it was his turn to ask a question to Anwar, he made a speech instead, or more accurately voicing his point of view. It looked more like he wanted to be the main debater himself! Anwar then later corrected him which caused the few people in the audience to giggle at the fool. So did I. All in all, at the end everyone knows who won that debate. Anwar made alot of points while Shabery... well honestly, what he was saying or why he was there for... he really did not made much points, and most were personal attacks towards Anwar and his past. It seems like BN's side of a debate was to take pot shots at the other. If this was a school debate, undoubtedly... BN would have lost.
Video of the Debate brokened into 8 parts in Youtube.
